A Day with the Siblings!

It was great to get to have time with the immediate family this week; we even had one day where it was our whole immediate family. Mom, Dad, Dana, and Allison drove our parents' car over on Friday. Then, Dawn drove Allison's car over from Missoula on Sunday. We dropped her off at the Spokane airport on Monday. And, Dana drove Allison's car back to Ronan on Monday. It all worked out well.

On Sunday we had some family pool/hot tub time, then drove into Sandpoint to hit a really cool thrift store where Sunday is Senior Discount Day (20% off!). It is the Panhandle Animal Shelter Thrift Shoppe, and it is a little bit of awesome!

After our outing, we were back at the condo relaxing for the rest of the day. I don't know about your moms, but my Mom tends to like to take 'family pictures' (of which she is usually not in) when people are leaving. Well, someone is usually leaving in the morning when some of us might not be up, showered, or looking our best. So, I asked that we take some pictures in the middle of the day when we were at least showered and not dressed in pajamas.

The lighting is a little wonky, but I wanted the lake in the background. So, this is what you get...

We also did one family photo with the timer. Thank you, camera!

In the evening, the siblings headed to the floating restaurant, The Floating Restaurant at Hope, in our marina.  More specifically, we went to the bar at the restaurant.   We started to order 'regular' drinks, but then overheard a more interesting order.  It involved lemonade, vodka, and a float of huckleberries.

Hello, gorgeous!  The drink was practically perfect!  Such a refreshing summer drink, even though it was pretty cool that day.  The drink was bittersweet---well, soursweet really.

Allison decided to get on the huckleberry bandwagon, so he asked for a huckleberry float on a blended margarita.  It was also a pretty drink.

The word of the evening was squall.  We heard it first from a customer who came in talking about an approaching squall.  Then I went outside to take a look.  I walked down the dock and a boat captain said, "so, you came out to take a picture of the squall, huh?  If I had a free hand (he was doing something with ropes and things on his boat) I'd give you my phone from my pocket and have you take a picture."  I didn't offer to reach in his pocket...

But, I did take my own photos...

The lone sailboat looked cool out in the squall.

This is a view of another part of the lake while the squall was approaching.

The squall did not progress into anything significant. We just stayed inside and enjoyed our drinks.
