Tomorrow is only a day away!

Hello all!

I'm leaving The States tomorrow. It is almost unbelievable! It was such a long build-up, and now it is here and really happening. I know that the next two and a half months are going to go by so quickly. I want to savor each moment.

It was funny because my mom thought it was today. First thing this morning, she asked me, "when do you have to be there?" I said, "where?" And she said, "the airport." I said, "umm, tomorrow?" So, she was excited that we had one more day.

I'm feeling much better about everything! I got the two classes posted online, I finished my report for the College, and I finished packing :) yay! Now, I'm copying some addresses over, wrapping a few Christmas presents to have ready while I'm gone, and visiting with the family.

The next time I blog, it will be from The Dominican Republic!!!

Three Days Now

Well, here I am at 2:30 a.m. again writing. I just finished uploading an entire course to the web server, yay!!! I'm so excited to have that complete. Now, I just need to finish the report for the Education Department, and I'll feel like I've done the work I agreed to do before I leave.

It's been quite a week since I last wrote. I had a good time with Dawn being here for the week. We worked quite a lot on auction preparations, and it really paid off. They made about $40,000 on Saturday night between the auction, table sponsors, and corporate sponsors. It was a really incredible night; the decorations and food were sumptious, the guest speaker was motivating, and the auction items were diverse and beautiful! All in all, the energy in the room was fabulous!

Yesterday, we took Dawn to the airport in Missoula. I also was able to catch up with my old friend, Michelle. We had a good visit.

Today, I received the good news that Jen is the proud aunt of a little boy, Hayes. He was born today! Jen was sooooo excited; I could hear it in her voice :)

The last few days Wil has been so sweet on the phone. He wanted to know what I wanted to eat on Friday night and where I wanted to go this weekend. It sounds like we are going to a beach somewhere. Is any one out there jealous yet? tropical beach this weekend...think about it...

To The D.R. in 9 Days

The last several days have been a blur! My mom's first cousin died on Wednesday, so there was a wake and a rosary leading up to an amazing funeral today. Dawn arrived late last night for the funeral. She will be here all week since she was already planning to be here this weekend to support Mom in the benefit auction for our local domestic violence shelter, of which Mom is a board member.

In the midst of all of this, I cleaned out almost everything from my storage unit :) yay! I also did a 'mock pack' to make sure everything would fit. It did! yay again! And, I was offered a couple more jobs. yay again, again! So, I will be teaching another online class while I'm in The DR and I will be doing some college advising and registration this week.

Today was a really long day with the funeral, cemetery, and dinner from 2 until 8:30, but it was a great tribute to our cousin. He lived life in a big, showy, way, and I think he would have been happy with the day. I was lucky to visit with some cousins whom I had not seen in several years. I enjoyed sharing my great news with them. I had a 61 year old, a 50 year old, and a 32 year old cousin ask to see pictures of Wil; it was very sweet! I really appreciated their excitement over my joy. I can now say that I'm going "next week." Wow, it's next week!!!!

Two Weeks from Now I'll be in the Air!

Okay, so I seriously was not planning to write a post every day, but here I go again! I'm just getting so excited to go!

Today Mom, Dad, and I went to Missoula since Dad had a cancer check-up (blood work all good, cancer free-Yay!). We also did some shopping. I picked up some gifts for Wil's family, travel toiletries, some clothes, some little odds and ends to make the apartment 'Ours' etc...I had a lot of fun shopping with Mom and then all three of us had a really nice talk about The D.R. and Wil over dinner at Hooters (yes, I wrote Hooters, and it was Mom's suggestion, by the way!)

Now, I have a lot of stuff to fit in a couple of suitcases :) heehee! Thank God Allison is an incredible packer!

I forgot to write that before we went to Missoula, I went up to the college to meet with my former supervisor to talk about a consulting project that I'm doing for her program in the next week. Well, I also got another job :) I'm going to be teaching an online course from The D. R. this quarter...woohoo!

15 Days and an Apartment

Yay! Wil rented our apartment this evening!!! I'm so relieved that the apartment is taken care of now.

Wil did have an adventure on the way to the apartment. He and his brother were stopped by the police. Apparently, his brother was riding a motorcycle and the police officer said they didn't have the correct paperwork. The police took the motorcycle in to custody and sent the brothers home. Wil's dad was already able to retrieve the motorcycle, so it must not have been too big of a deal.

It is a second story one bedroom apartment. Wil is going to move in this weekend. And, his mom is going to sew curtains for the apartment. She already made a blanket and pillows. I'm excited to see it and make it "ours."

16 Days to Take Off

Well, here I go...I'm in Montana getting ready for my next adventure. I will fly to Santo Domingo, The Dominican Republic to join my fiance, Wil, in 16 days!! I decided to keep a blog so that I can stay in touch with many people at the same time.

I'm sitting here at about 2 a.m. finishing up some notes and lists. I am pretty much ready. I have to purchase a few things in Missoula on Thursday. I'm so excited to see Wil! We have talked everyday, but it will be so amazing to see him in person!! It has been 3 months since he left Oregon.

I'm also excited to see his homeland, meet his family and friends, and live in a different country. Obviously, mostly to see him!! ha! I'm nervous too...will his family be angry and lash out at Wil when he comes out to them? Will we be safe there? Of course, I'm planning for the best! We will be happy and healthy and safe!

It's funny, I'm not worried a bit about our relationship or dedication to being together. I believe that is strong.
