Happy Birthday Uncle Sam! (really U.S.A.)

Happy Fourth of July everyone! I hope that you are enjoying the day in whatever way you prefer--whether going on picnics and lighting fireworks, dancing at the powwow, or staying home and comforting yourself and your pets from the neighborhood fireworks noise.

I'm not sure what we will be doing here in The D.R. I think we will be spending some time with Wil's family today.

This will be the first year in maybe 13 years that I will not be eating Mom's or Grandma's fried chicken after watching the Charlo Parade. Ho Hum! But, I'm hoping I can talk Wil into some pica pollo here in Santo Domingo.

And, I'll be thinking of all of you watching or lighting fireworks into the wee hours tonight! Be safe and have fun!!!!

I thought of you guys & how much fun it has always been at your homestead on the 4th of July. Tho I've only made it acouple times, it's my idea of a perrrrfect Independence celebration! I miss it AND you! Love you both ~ Hezz
