Honey, let´s make some art...

Sorry about the photos not all being at the correct rotation. I have been having problems with slow internet all week, now I found fast internet, but the photo program is not working...I decided we would work through it together!

As you saw in the pictures of the apartment, the walls were plain peachy! We can´t afford to buy art. (Note to self-include a poster tube of posters in a suitcase next time) So, I had the idea to make our own art. We purchased canvas and paint. Wil was totally on board with the idea. I prepped the canvas so that we would have several pieces throughout the apartment. When he got home last week one night we decided to paint. He really let his artistic side go with the cool plant that he painted. First he cut out napkins, laid the design out on the canvas, and then painted over it with the green color. That Wil is a clever one.

I wanted us to have a welcome sign to invite people in to our apartment.

Here are our first three art pieces. There are several more to come. We decided to paint over a leaf. However, we didn´t have a leaf. Wil went out in the dark at about midnight to steal me a leaf. As he ascended the stairs with the banana leaf in hand, he said,"for the things that I do for you, there is no word." To which I replied, "I know honey, now get in here before the neighbor comes after you for his leaf!"

As you may recall, the other items missing from the apartment were furniture. I am so excited that we got furniture yesterday! Next up is the cushions, but it immediately made the main room feel like a room! yay!

As some of you know, I´m a bit of a nester (no, I´m not pregnant), so I´m feeling much better to have some things like this around me. And, Wil promptly moved some of his treasures to the table to finish it off.

You're both sooo creative & it looks like you both are having fun. I sure like your furniture set. I'd like it too cuz you have no tv. That alone will encourage you to be more creative. Your nest is becoming more & more comfortable all the time. Good for you! both of you!
